'Chosen Retreat' by Abide Singles Ministry

I'm SO excited to announce this! I've been wanting to scoop up a small group of single women for a weekend retreat for a couple years now... it’s finally happening and we're going to the beach! We're heading to Destin, Florida!

Ladies, I have been through. the. ringer. with dating and relationships and let me tell you I have never found as much peace and fulfillment in my singleness as I have once I learned to fall in love with Jesus first!! My desire is for you and I to learn to be so stinking in love with Jesus that we thrive as single women, refusing to lower our standards merely to be accepted by a man or by our culture- that we refuse to put off living life to the fullest simply because we don’t have a husband. 

If we do get married someday, imagine giving our future husbands the best gift we could ever give them- that we love them as husbands and NOT as the answer to our soul-level needs of being loved and known- to which only God is fully capable to meet those needs! That our husbands aren’t a “finally” but a “blessing” to our lives! 

How amazing that two fully complete people can come together and add to each other’s lives rather than complete it! - like I’m not trying to be the answer to a man’s soul-level needs that only God can answer... I can’t expect him to be that for me either! 

Anyway..... I am not perfect at this single thing by any means, but I just want to point you to some solid truths about singleness, help you uncover your areas of resistance to fully embracing your singleness and all that God has for you, teach you God’s perspective on singleness, and just create an environment of community and fun at the beach with some other single ladies!! 

The name of this retreat is “Chosen” because when we fully embrace the reality we have been chosen by Christ, there is freedom to not ask another human being to define your value by choosing you or not in relationship! This will be the first singles retreat hosted by Abide Singles at Northroad Ministry. I’m so blessed to be heading this ministry up and I’m excited to see what God will continue doing with it!!
